Alzette holds the following formal qualifications:
University of Stellenbosch BA in Fine Arts, direction Graphic Design and BA Honours in book illustration.
Since 1995, Alzette has illustrated mainly children’s literature for educational and trade publishing houses. Her editorial illustrations also appear in a variety of publications.
Abroad, her illustrations have been commissioned by My Table Magazine, Houston, William M. Mercer, New York and Harcourt Educational, Oxford. She also worked as a faux artist in the Southern USA.
Alzette's awards todate are"Winner in ISPAA Design awards, New York 1992, category: best seasonal brochure for Distell’s Oude Libertas Amphitheatre seasonal brochure" as well as the "Caxton Magazine Excellence Awards 2007 – merit award for excellence in the category of ‘Image of the Year’ – ‘Illustration or cartoon’ "
